First main media reviews are in. VG Nett has the headline “Party with Patton”. Sample quote: “Reunifications is actually quite all right as long as they are of this quality…Faith is back, to answer your band name. We definitely dare to hope for something more. And something new.”
Similarly, Dagbladet leads with the headline “Worth waiting for”. Sample quote: “The decor is sparse and stylish. Red velvet matches the band’s colourful suits and there is never any doubt what is the focus. Patton leaped manically back and forth on stage while keeping his vocal skills, which, if possible, are even better than before.”
FVN have posted a negative review, headlined “Irrelevant comeback.”
Thnx a bunch!
Here’s a pretty decent (at least sound wise) catch of Midlife Crisis from Hove, so you can hear for yourself what he says. If my memory serves me right without looking it is something along the lines of “here’s a little autobiographical number we wrote especially for this tour”.

Before Midlife he has said on some dates that this song is now autobiographical now or just that this song is true now
Ok, thnx…. Maybe it wasnt before Midlife then… But Mike P. said something about The Second Coming tour before one of the songs, and something about the song they then started…. Anyone recall?
I’ll add photos to the Last Word piece later in the week but here’s one set from Flickr

Anybody has pictures from the Hove gig?
Please post pictures somewhere.
What was it that Mike P. said before Midlife Crisis?
First Roddy B says
Thank you
Then Mike P. said:
Everybody okay
Audience roar.
And Mike P. says
Jaaa
And Mike B starts Midlife Crisis
There are at least one audience sound recording made. It will be out after Roskilde sometie.
What was it that Mike P. said before Midlife Crisis?
And YES! the Hove show was FANTASTIC! Loved every minute of it! Saw them on Kalvøya back in 93, and missed em ever since :p This was a dream come true!
You know what, if I could only describe the Hove show with one word, it would have been: BEAUTIFUL!
What? http://www.twitter.com/roddybottum Would he claim “one of the top shows” if the crowd was sedate? I was 10-15meters from stage, it was totally kick ass, madness and a splendid performance. Gig of the year!! Decade, millenium, ever!!! (ok, maybe not ever, but hey…. it was aawesome, the whole package!)
Lily Allen indeed. And yeah, what happened to Fisk? The meanest of words!
My guess is that’s fuck you with lil allen. I was even there but had a little too much to drink to remember the song properly… 🙂
What is “Fuck You/Chinese Arithmetic”? I know Chinese Arithmetic, but what is Fuck You? Do you mean “Poker Face”? thanks
Wow. What a gig. I was lucky enough to stand on the left side of the stage.
And the audience looked very good. I think the band was pleased with the crowd. The last track they played said it all. One dissapointing thing was.
Where the hell did the fish (Fisk) go????
I have picturs from the gig. Where can I upload them?
Mike B. said sorry for only playing 75/80 minutes.
It was the festival manager who did that.
The band wanted to play moore.
Yes,I’m pretty sure this is a real diagnosis. And i got it BAD. 🙂 Anyway, the FVN review is a disgrace and a quite impressive demonstration of just plain not getting it. Saying Reunited was nice, and then it didn’t get good again until the next ballad (Easy)? That Mike P was ‘just roaring behind the microphone’? Isn’t that sorta his job? All righty then. The review is so sad and misplaced I can’t really be bothered to be sincerely provoked.
Superb. First case recorded case of Post Faith No More Stress Disorder. After attending three gigs in five days on the first week of the tour I can certainly empathise.
Sedate? Were we at the same show? I was about 20 metres from the stage, and it was absolute madness. Jumping, moshing, kicking, screaming, pushing and what have you. I’m a complete wreck today – my voice is gone,my back is killing me and my head’s heavy from all the emotions. I feel as if I’ve been run over by a train, both physically and mentally. I’ve actually checked in to a SPA hotel to try and digest the whole experience,so in a few minutes I’ll be in the jacuzzi with a drink, reminiscing about the best party I’ve ever been to.
I was there and it was absolutetly fantastic. The only minor disappointment was the pretty sedate crowd.
