Still struggling to find some good reviews I can easily understand via Google Translate but what I have heard has been positive, a few references to overall festival technical problems apart, and some mention the band playing a snippet of Bulgarian chagla music. Actually, here’s some video of that.
Videos
FNM apparently played Let’s Lynch the Landlord – the Dead Kennedys cover – but I have not found it among the huge collection of Burgas videos online. Here’s some other highlights:
Mike goes walkabout during Just a Man
Cuckoo for Caca
Eastenders again
Chariots/Stripsearch
Mike and the Crane and Easy (via estqwerty)
Review
Scrub what I said above. There’s an extensive review on the Bulgarian metal site Metal Katehizis which concludes “The concert of the week…of the month…why not the year!”

Here is a link to “Let’s lynch the landlord” from Spirit of Burgas http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KAygeOCgYo
Fabulous!! 😀

yes, you put the crane, that’s right!
Awesome show! Well, I hope I can add something to this article.
There was a mess at the entries. It’s hard to say how many people watched the show – 15 000, maybe 20 000.
Few highlights:
Patton rode a camera that was there to shoot the show right in front of the stage, said something lie “Cmon bitch” and later it got out that the camera was broken.
Before the last chorus of Midlife Crisis the band stopped to let the audience as they do often – then Roddy started this melody and Patton said – If u don’t know what’s this, then you’re stupid. I guess it was the music from Eastenders but I’m not sure and I guess I’m stupid.
About the “chalga” remark – you know, this is kind of music that is favorite for lots of people in Bulgaria but many other especially rock fans loathe it. And Patton obviously was informed about this so he started to tease the people which was really funny actually. You can see and hear all the thing on youtube.
Another Patton-ism – “After the show we all go to swim in the sea. NAKED! Wanna join us?”
KFAD was maybe the peak for me in Burgas – the highest of many high peaks. Encores were fuckin great too.
U rocked Burgas!!!!! More, more, more Faith No More! Don’t u ever stop!
You know…you were awesome.
(of course you know it)
Well, it’s so damn tight on CD… really perfect (Trey Spruance did an amazing job, so clean but so aggressive).
Very hard to render “as is” live. Anyway I hope they’ll play it live when I see them ! 🙂
Awesome song.
my god the 2009 live version of cuckoo for caca is ridiculous and absolutely my current favorite faith no more song. thanks for your site.
