Via setlist.fm, FNM’s set list from their Down Under tour opener last night/this morning in the Westpac Arena in Christchurch, New Zealand.

And here is a short clip of The Real Thing
Review
Not really a review as such but a blog post on the popular Stuff.co.nz site. Sample quote: “Also, I put it to you that there a very few men in the world that can wear a peach shirt and trouser combo and still manage to look cool. Mike Patton is one of these. It’s quite possible he is the only person on the planet who can rock that look.”
Otherwise, the concert has passed off with barely a mention in the New Zealand press.
Until the real Stuff.co.nz review. Sample quote: “Jackets were unbuttoned and discarded and the captivating Mike Patton, with slicked back hair and trademark megaphone, then led the group through a thoughtful setlist that faultlessly mixed greatest hits with the band’s best and little known numbers.”
Set list:
- Midnight Cowboy
- The Real Thing
- Land of Sunshine
- Be Aggressive
- Caffeine
- Evidence
- Surprise! You’re Dead!
- Last Cup of Sorrow

And that looks like a corking set.
Roddy’s verdict via Twitter: RODDYBOTTUM thank you christchurch. the first show always has the potential to feel a little wobbly but you all made us feel right at home.
More news and info as we have it.
@Buono – i was at that show. after the mid 90’s no one ever believed that voivod of all bands was the headliner. soundgarden played ‘earache my eye’ live too. (in the same vibe, there was a similar tour/show at roseland a year or so later: “gish” era smashing pumpkins opening for “ten” era pearl jam, with “blood sugar sex magic” era red hot chili peppers as the headliners.)
I’m also wondering if this will be similar to Bklyn’s show. This will be my 1st FNM show EVER!! so freakin excited. Glad to see Midlife Crisis & LoS are on here!!
Setlist is awesome, id be happy if they played the exact same one in Brooklyn. Just a man is icing on the cake for me and I’ve seen them quite a few times. Once opening for Soundgarden and voivod at l’amour in Brooklyn and yes they blew them both away. Easily.
