I was there, in first row. What a gig. I’ve never seen them so close, the band seem really enjoy the show. Glad I’ve managed to see them once again this summer.
Hey: The owner of the youtube-account rawk7000 (linked drum-destroying video) filmed about 11 or 12 songs. He already posted a few more songs in HD and keeps on posting the next days 😀
Ahh shit…this could all be coming to an end pretty soon. Hope there’s enough HD video out there for an official DVD of the tour at least…and maybe an album. Just one, please guys!
Cheers for the info
Thanks iiti!
Well the final show looked… interesting. But I didn’t have much to go by; will have to wait until the videos and stories surface. Will it be the last? Who knows. Kinda sad, though, to think if it is.
Now that the tour’s over, maybe now I can finally go learn how to surf 🙂 It’s been a fun ride, FNM!
Aloha *:-)
Thank you, iiti.
sorry for flooding… one last comment on the recent “See you next year” issue. Mike said in Wiesen “See you next… week?” So, it’s a joke only, I think. But we’ll see… next week? next year?
Deframe: Somebody threw something (maybe an empty beercup) on stage. Mike got angry, asking the guy what the fuck he wanted. Then tried to make him throw again, right into his mouth, but of course, he didn’t. Mike closed this episode saying “Anyway, anybody else is having a good time, except this fucking bitch…”
Sorry, I just watched the videos, so my 5th comment is visible…
At the end of BEN jump, Mike said “go ahead, start the song”, but it’s not well audiable on the video that he said something like “I’m not gonna get out of hear soon” after that, hahaha…
I was there… some extra information:
1) Due to heavy storm and showers, the crowd was hiding inside the tent, and so, being compacted, it was a very “close, family-like” atmosphere from the beginning. Mike dedicated the 2nd or 3rd song to the “people in the back” (as he recognised the strength of the rain).
2) Probably thanks to the architecture of the huge tent, the singing of the crowd could be heard perfectly, even at high volumes from the stage. The band admired the active crowd, once all 5 members applaused for us with smiles on their faces. Mike even joked about he could go home, as the crowd sings so good (“I suck!!! I suck!!!” he shouted, haha). The best singing came during Ashes to Ashes…
3) Chinese Arithmetic featured Poker Face this time. Midlife Crisis also featured something in between (I didn’t recognise it), before the final chorus repeats.
4) Before Ben, Mike made a little poll, what song the crowd would like to hear: Michael Jackson or Bee Gees. BG’s got more votes (hands in the air), but Mike said: “That’s pretty bad, because we’re going to play Michael Jackson, motherfuckers…” hahaha
5) Edge of the world was introduced as some sort of a lovesong, where the crowd can dance or snap the fingers or whatever…
6) At some point, Mike said something like the crowd is so fantastic that the band is having a great time, “which is weird”… My impression was that FNM DID have a good time that night! They enjoyed playing (see Roddy’s tweet as well).
7) Roddy and Mike started teasing the crowd saying that the band should buy a drink or a breakfast (“omlette”) for everybody. After asking where would that be, people pointed towards the bar-tents. Mike “understood” it as everybody was pointing to one fat guy in the crowd, so he started to talk about a party next morning at the guy’s place. He even tried to get his address, giving the microphone to him…
8) Mike said at one point: “You guys kick ass! You kicked the ass of Faith No More!” Roddy replied: “You kicked our ass in Faith No More” (meaning that Mike is that ass). Mike said: “They probably didn’t get the joke, but thank you…”
9) I wonder what that “Sound of silence” was, as the lights came out and the crew started to dismount the stage right after Mark Bowen. Can anybody clearify this, please?
If this gonna be FNM’s last but one show ever, I’m more than happy being able to be there.
@SHAWN E, I didn´t find any live stream.
Woa, what was that comment at the start of Edge Of The World all about?
is there a link for a live stream somewhere?
I was thinking of the Julie Andrews cover… yikes!
