Music Club Deluxe, the “outstanding mid-priced 2CD single artist range” division of Demon Music Group, has just released the 31-track Midlife Crisis: The Very Best of Faith No More.
The album can be picked up at Amazon.
Music Week’s blurb about the release says: “Faith No More racked up a string of hits before splitting in 1998, returning to play some dates last year. They may yet return to recording, but in the meantime this excellent retrospective does fine. Anthologising their 12 hits and 27 additional tracks (some live) on a two-disc set with a playing time well in excess of two hours, this vividly illustrates the band’s prowess and humour. Highlights include hard-hitting, rap/rock hybrids such as Epic and the anthemic We Care A Lot, the more thoughtful Stripsearch and full-throttle metal of Digging The Grave. Their biggest – and doubtless tongue-in-cheek hit – is a remake of Lionel Richie’s Easy, which showed a more melodic side to the band.”

(Thanks to benlmitchell on Twitter for the heads-up)
1. Another best of is the way this band continues to make money without making new music.
2. Patton working with Slash? I don’t believe anything he (Patton) says anymore. He said at one time there would “never” be a FNM reunion.
3. Patton singing for “The Project” would be hilarious! Just think of all the “rock dudes and metalhead”
douchebags that he could fuck with directly.
This is frustrating… annoying, boring. The FNM flame died for me after I saw them at their Warfield show. When I contacted Billy, he said that he had no idea of the then-newest compilation “The Works”and said the record label does it without contacting anyone in the band but admitted they have the rights to do so. Very very lame.
Integra: Epic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m1QyIpo9aA)
Roddy is wearing that same t-shirt in the video for “Falling To Pieces”
that graphic on the shirt is a needle being broken over the letter “A”
YAD is an organisation from finland.
another t-shirt they also liked to wear a bit was: FSU which could be Florida State University. for some reason I always thought it was a skate brand or something.
Did you guys notice that the “YAD” T-shirt Mike P is wearing on the cover appeared on the “Epic” video in the previous post below… on Roddy?!
FNM compilation without King for a day?! That’s bullsh#t…
Thanks KMR…. What a waste of a release lol
@ Nick – for As The Worm Turns Chuck is on vocals.
You know, if they ever get around to recording another studio album that would make a perfect title – Greatest Hits.
Especially considering it followed up Album of the Year.
Talk about confusing people for generations to come …
who the fuck approves the release of this shit????
Oh yay another one with the same re-hashed content I’ve heard a million times before. I CAN HARDLY CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT. At least the last one had a cool title.
superficial as hell
Haa haa haa!!!!! Another one!!!! So funny. The songs aren’t going to be any different if you change up the order. Midlife Crisis still sounds the same whether you listen to “Angel Dust” or “Who Cares A Lot” or “This is it” or “The Works” …….. Enough is enough. If you are going to come out with another one, offer something that we haven’t heard.
At this point, if someone bought all of the compilation albums, they probably would have spent more money than if they were just to buy all the albums and eps.
Mike….we obviously have too much time on our hands…..I didn’t go quit as far….but I did a best of The Second Coming Tour……that La Gala show in Santiago is off the hook!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Integra – Funny, I also went to check what was YAD (Youth Against Drugs)…
Mike – Agree for the Boo Ya Tribe & FNM song.
for anyone who was curious…i finally found the answer…

This is actually a perfect lead into something that I though would make for a great post; the ultimate FNM mixtape.
I’ve been having a lot of fun burning youtube files into mp3s and this FNM mix has been dominating my rotation as of late –
1) Reunited + From out of Nowhere
La Florida Stadium, Santiago of Chile, 30 October 2009.
Love this version of the 2.0 setlist. Roddy definitely feels a lot more comfortable in the vocals too.
2) A Small Victory
Hanging w/ MTV 1992
The audio seems to be missing from the youtube clip, but this was an amazing performance w/ Mike screaming and FNM death metal jamming over and over again at the end to the dismay of the MTV host. There’s an an added bonus of a guns and roses diss for good measure. Perfect lead in to –
3) Mondo Cane – Urlo Negro (Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival 10/3)
Uploaded by reverendalexg
Yeah, not a FNM song but I like the continuity in screaming.
I actually like the live versions of Urlo Negro over the studio version, which I think has too much studio trickery going on. You’re not Kanye West, Mike. You should have more confidence in yourself and just let your vocals speak for themselves 🙂
4) Faith No More/Boo-Ya Tribe – Another Body Murdered video
One of the greatest FNM songs that you will never, ever, hear on any FNM compilation and one of the most underrated rock and hip-hop collaborations of all time.
I like the video because it has some parts of the movie by Denis Leary that’s not on the studio version of the song. Also, there’s a brief snip of the video before it (PM Dawn, I think) that reminds me of when I used to make mixtapes as a kid by recording songs off the radio or from other cassette tapes and I’d always manage to get part of another song on my tape. Mistakes like that are pretty much extinct in this digital age where everything is polished and precise and I kind of miss that sometimes. It’s those flaws that made each mixtape unique.
5) Faith No More at The Warfield 2010: Patton and Chuck – Introduce Yourself
48 seconds of music history
6) Ashes to ashes
2009 La Gala ashes to ashes (Chili, I think)
Both the band and the crowd are really into it.
7) Falling to Pieces + Surprise You’re Dead
1993 Phoenix Festival
“This is the last time you will ever hear this song again.”
8) Midlife Crisis
La Florida Stadium, Santiago of Chile, 30 October 2009
Undisputed winner of the best audience participation in the Midlife Crisis sing along part of the show. Lots of banter between FNM and the crowd in Spanish (Does anyone know what they are talking about) which is a great lead in to –
9) Evidence in Spanish
Lima Peru. 2009
10) Evidence in Italian
Idro Italy 2009
11) Small Victory
1993 Phoenix Festival
This is where they tease Jim about being gay and then Patton goes off about how they are all breaking up and how relieved he is that it’s all over.
I believe this was Big Jim’s last show w/ FNM.
12) Chariots of Fire / Stripsearch
(Area 4 Festival 2009)
Funny intro w/ Patton ripping on some of the other bands at the festival.
13) Edge Of The World
1992 – Warfield. SF
“My parents are in the audience tonight. Mom, would you fuck me?”
14) Gentle Art of Making Enemies
Warfield 2010
15) I Started a Joke
Warfield 2010
16) Just a Man
Warfield 2010
Personal bias. I loved being a part of those shows.
I’d love to hear what other people would put down for their mixes.
Highway Star and Sweet Emotion? Don`t get me wrong I like those songs but they could have easily replaced those ones with other songs.
yeah but this one has the best cover picture of them all.
I will never get tired of wearing my nike air force high tops with track suit pants.
@ T-Mort – Posters from all the concerts should be available at:

I’ve still yet to add more photos, but the Second Coming Galleries website is now up at:

I can’t believe this!! Another one!! Lol. BTW does anyone know if it’s the Patton vocals on ATWT??
Unrelated topic: ADMIN…do you know if VIA X is going to do a live stream of the Chile show?…I ask you specifically cause you seem to have the inside scoop. Also, does anyone know if Secret Serpent is doing posters for the 2 L.A. and Chile show(s)?
good to see Absolute Zero, Big Kahuna and Light Up and Let Go on there. I reckon they were all top quallity album tracks. Can’t believe they didn’t make the grade. I know it’s an absolute waste but I’ll probably buy a copy.
These ‘best of’ compliations get to me. Apparently ‘Hippie Jam Song’, ‘Instrumental’ and ‘Highway Star’ are cream-of-the-crop, CD1 affairs. Not to mention the fact they’ve named ‘The World Is Yours’ incorrectly.
