So here are the three videos we all wanted to see from last night’s first Hollywood Palladium show.
Thanks to regular contributor tbrandao and YouTubers corosiano and talefromthepit
Everything’s Ruined
Spirit
Helpless
Here’s a review from mxdwn, who kept us up to date with their live tweets last night.
Sample quote: “One of several surprises from the night comes next in the form of Angel Dust track “Everything’s Ruined.” Bassist Billy Gould thumps out the chugging bassline while guitarist Jon Hudson plucks the soaring distorted chords that escalate the song’s energy. Along with Bottum’s plunging piano melody, it’s a sonic tapestry of stellar quality rarely heard in hard rock.”
And the review contains some cracking photos.
Thannks to everyone for their many, many commnts in the previous post, their tweets, photos and videos. Sounds like the Palladium has attracted a lot of fans worldwide from the FNM community playing homage for perhaps the final time. Enjoy tonight’s show too and keep the updates coming in the post to come. Wish I was there.
The Last To Know is one of my faves too. Amazing song.
Sounds like jon nailed the solo on ER…wish I were there…
Everything’s Ruined has always been one of my FNM faves so its so great to finally hear it live…and they did it so fucking well I dont understand why they hadnt done it sooner! I’d love to hear Last to Know live, its another of my faves that people dont seem to talk about much.
Spirit, eh? If I’m not mistaken, the last time they played that one was they were fronted by a certain Mr Moseley. Talk about a long time between drinks.
Also: Nick Oliveri sitting in on guitar.
I just came back from that show and all I can say is that I am so glad I got to go see them after years of being a fan.Patton is an amazing (beast) vocalist capable of ability that is a real treat to witness in person. The band played great …I would have loved to had seen FnM back in the angel dust era but i’m not complaining at all.
I loved helpless, ashes to ashes, everything’s ruined …the crowd was great ..at the end of the night after their 2nd or 3rd encore Patton ended the night by crowd surfing as the band played on in the background creating a very surreal moment which left people in awe. That was an EP!C concert!!…”Your perfect yes it’s true, But without me your only you”
Ricardo ~ …as far as I’m concerned, yes. 😛
They seem to be really mixing up the setlist for the second night! A PM Dawn cover…?
I think Firsa has just solved an enigma about FNM.
Maybe them playing “Helpless” isn’t such a surprise after all.
I have a strong hunch that the song is about Douglas Fairbanks, the former “King of Hollywood”. His famous last words were “I never felt better”. The lyrics also loosely describe his gravesite in the Hollywood Forever memorial park.
Anyway, pretty fitting for a Hollywood show…
Cheers, Admin! Expect better commenting and videos from tonight’s concert. 🙂
I even tried to get arrested today…but everyone…looked the other way <3
“Things worked out better than we had planned…” – Now I think I know the reason why putting Everything’s ruined at the beginning of the setlist… 🙂
I’m sitting here in my SCT blue T-shirt in Europe, envying you bastards for your 20 USD tickets…;)
