- Brief Mike Patton quotes – the real thing this time – about the Sinfônica Heliópolis in leading Brazilian paper O Globo:
“I never heard anything recorded by them, but I heard the orchestra by Brazilian friends. Once I found out more about the work of the Sinfônica Heliópolis , it confirmed my intuition that they would be perfect for Mondo Cane. Not only musically, but also in spirit. After this experience, inviting the choir to accompany Faith No More at the SWU festival was a natural choice.”
The piece also includes a great quote from the symphony’s executive director Isaac Karabtchevsky:
“I was impressed with his attitude, which becomes demonic when that image is on stage, but he was an angel in real life.”
A reminder of the performance:
- And in a similar vein, the behind-the-scenes video Just A Choir from the Maquinaria festival that was previously on Facebook is now on YouTube:
- fnm4ever have uploaded the full show of Faith No More at the Super Rock festival in Lisbon on YouTube:
- Another rather good Faith No More remix from soundcloud – Midlife Crisis the Virgin Material Material Remix:
Faith No More – Midlife Crisis (Virgin Magnetic Material Remix) by Virgin Magnetic Material - The NME has included Mike Patton’s The Solitude Of Prime Numbers in its list of the 20 Best Cult/Experimental albums of 2011.
- And another Faith No More tribute act that I was unaware of – the nattily-named Faith No Moreish, who play Hull in England on 23 December.
AshesTo Ashes – FAITH NO MORE(ish) by FAITH NO MORE(ISH)
This is one of the most listened to live songs on my ipod…besides Roddy stumbling once I think they rocked it! Love the quick start and energy.
Hey Homefuck…thanks for sharing……well mystery solved on why they don’t play that one live…..wow……

wow long day in the studio… 12 hours later this Zorn record is a life-changing experience… Patton, Baron, Dunn & Medeski killed it!
Faith No More should cover this Russian Internet meme song, “I Am Glad I’m Finally Going Home,” maybe for a Midlife Crisis interlude:

Yep… while the Angel Dust era is my favorite, Patton and the boys would perform just as aggressive as any metal or hardcore band back in ’95. Their presence was energetic as f__k! Though, Patton was at his best with Bungle up until ’96; that was Patton on steroids.
Label them what you want, but when I saw them back in the day, it was as intense as any metal or punk show I’d been to before. Their presence — especially in the early ’90s, was truly that of an aggressive metal band. You hate headbanging and moshing? typical of an “Epic” Patton-only-fan who can think of Mike as only a rock singer.
Merry Christmas! \m/ \m/
aaa…the Brailizn piece in ‘plain’ English thanks..
And as for the Lisbon show…it reminded me how ”aggressive” the band were back in the days of 90’s.
yessss the SBSR festival in 95.. at last!!! thank you so much 😀
