Never gonna finish this song – Mike.

Relentless start from the boys. Faith No More still do heavy.
2120
That sounds so heavy here before the segue into Delilah as Patton appears.
2117
The music stops, the lights go out. And we’re live at Hammersmith with Woodpecker.
2111 And the average age of the crowd has been scientifically calculated as 39.7.
2106 You can actually feel a wall of crowd-sourced heat in here as the expectation levels rise. Looks like we’ll start on time.
2103 Mr Moss and team putting finishing touches to very white stage. Kick-off in 12 minutes. The Apollo is rammed and 2.0 is in the stalls ready to mosh – and tweet and update here.
While the world’s eyes may be on another corner of west London, a small enclave in Hammersmith is already defiantly Faith No More‘s appearance tonight at the HMV Apollo.
Fans have already begun queuing outside the venue – doors open at 7pm – , ticket touts are already plying their wares and the Hammersmith Ram pub is crowded with fans clad in FNM tees.
As mentioned, doors open at 7 and our friends at The Holy Filament have revealed that the support act will be Italian trio Guano Padano at 745pm with Faith No More on stage at 915pm.
We’ll have full updates including setlist later on throughout the evening.
Just speculating…but maybe Gary’s a The Real Thing fan? Only 2 songs from that album…fine by me though, I think it’s the album that holds up the least. The WCAL encore was a great touch IMO, but I would have liked to have heard other songs over Greed despite it’s cool drumbeat. The Jungle comes to mind. But I like where they’re going with these setlists…getting in those “greatest hits” but slipping in some stuff for the nutjob fans like us who dream at night that our favorite band will dust off Greed after 22 years!
Wow, Gary, were we at the same gig?
My only disappointment was the omission of ‘Matador’, is this a new song or what? Very strange to leave it out if it is. I will be gutted if they play it tomo.
Generally the gig was the absolute fuckin nuts. The performance was pretty damn polished and Patton’s voice couldnt have been better.
My non fan boyfriend, who has learnt all my albums over the past few months, was incredibly impressed and surprised with how fucking amazing they were live…and he dont impress easy.
Just a mention on here about the pre gig meet at the Hammersmith Ram organised on Face Book. This was a truly great afternoon; so amazing to have the oppotunity to meet and chew the fat with other fans, it made the whole experience so much more special.
@benrun
I got tears during the song too :).Yeah, they’re so good now! I cannot imagine they will not realase a new record.
Hey Gary ~ nice drive-by trolling, braddah. But I’ll bite: just what do you mean by “no classics”? They played Midlife Crisis, Easy and Epic for starters. And if We Care A Lot were a car, it would be considered antique. And who can’t relate to a good old fashioned rickroll? Anyway, thanks for the laugh 😉
Waste of money hahahaha, thats a beauty.
The boys were on fine form and yes the crowd werent jumping around so much for the obscurer ones but there was plenty of classics in there for them to go ballistic to.
Fantastic night, fantastic performance, fantastic band. Just fantastic.
Wow…Gary…really sorry to hear that. Can you elaborate on your discontent….i would just like to hear more about what you were expecting.
If Patton didn’t seem too thrilled about performing “Greed,” reason may be because he’s not a fan of the lyrics: “my lack of talent…” He knows it’s simply not true, ha ha.
So do I Jacob, so do I…
Never gonna give you up
I need a video of Greed. please let there be a video of Greed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLoMEatMACI
Puffy looked like he wanted Jon to wait before starting Greed but Jon just kept right on chugging….
VERY cool setlist….definitely appreciated the play by play….next best thing to being there!
BENRUN-Hammersmith 1990 was my second FNM bootleg….love that show.
One more thing. I am sure they will pull another rabbit or two out of the hat Tuesday. Can we say another new song?
Tuesday we need to see Faster Disco make an appearance. My personal favorite of the Chuck era. Can’t believe they played Greed, yes very obscure but any hardcore FNM fan would know it. I am surprised it wasn’t something like Arabian Disco as I believe that was on one of there compilation records.
Wow some very obscure tracks indeed….admin….when mike said “were not done”….was that in reference to the set….or was that a comment on the band/reunion?
Best reunion show I’ve seen… Everything’s ruined was immense. Great encore too – devito taking pictures of the band and his feet
Massive disappointment tonight. no classics and too many poor choices that people didn’t relate to. Waste of money.
Oh one last thing: Mike Patton performed a song with the support act. This happened about an hour before FNM came on.
To be honest, MP didn’t seem thrilled to be doing Greed, especially since the audience reaction to it was a bit muted. It might have been a bit TOO obscure; Not everyone knew Spirit, Pills or WDYB but those songs are fast enough to react to. Greed is slower and less ‘heavy’. Nevertheless I would never have guessed that they would do it post-reunion so it was a pretty awesome surprise for Hammersmith. Thanks guys 🙂
Another thing from the gig, and I could be wrong about this one, but I’m pretty sure Patton reacted to someone yelling out “Mr Bungle” with “We have an OAP in the audience. Who are they?” or something of that ilk.
Alright. A surprise visit from DeVito AND a rickroll. That is awesome.
Greed? Yay!! One of my all times faves! A really full WCAL encore! Were the guys feeling nostalgic today?
Greed???? Damn! Let’s hope for Anne’s Song for the finale!
Encore was: Pills For Breakfast, Greed (!), We Care A Lot, Why Do You Bother?
Yep, Greed.
Yeah, they’ll never do “Jim” , though 😛
Yes!! Pills!!!!! Do they read my comments or something??? I’ve been begging for WDYB, Spirit, and Pills countless times on here….alot of us have begged for WDYB!
It looks like it was “Pills For Breakfast”…
I totally agree Sonny, he looks like he’d fit in with that bunch…a great show too.
I was just wondering the same thing. I keep checking the Faith No More blog to see if they call it something different, but I think Adrian would have known to distinguish it from that song if it was something different.
Danny fucking DeVito!
I’m serious, Mike needs to be in an episode of It’s Always Sunny. He could play the brother of Mac’s dad or something, ha.
Instrumental? The one from the “Who Cares A Lot” bonus disk?
[…] Setlist Fonte FNM2.0 […]
Listening to the bootleg from the Poland show….my God these guys are so good right now. Patton’s vocals are impeccable…high energy and still with soul and an excellent scream…Jon, Billy, Puffy, Roddy playing awesome. One of the best shows I’ve heard from them. I got tears during Mystery Song and even more during Why Do You Bother (hate Kanye but love the snippet in there, it adds alot to the song).
So cool to whoever is providing the Hammersmith commentary! Hammersmith Odeon in 1990 on vinyl was my first FNM bootleg ever and hooked me on them as a live band!
