Faith No More definitively wrapped up their stunning 2015 – new chart-topping album, US and world tours, new music video – with a final show at the Aftershock festival at the Gibson Ranch, Elverta in California.
Good night, friends. It was a good year.

From Five Finger Death Punch bassist Chris Kael:
Thanks for a great year guys (band, commenters, and admin)! Topping it off with an awesome video was wonderful. Hopefully we’ll have more to come (SSU for RSD??)!
Hi,
Now seems as good a time as ever to say: thank you for all the updates. It’s been a good year to be a FNM fan, hasn’t it?
cheers!
Adam,
Second …maybe third…the great review. RE: PDX … let’s blame it on that horrible venue. Take me back in time to the Pine St. Theatre. I know, I know capacity. Cheers!
What a great year for both the band and their fans….thanks for keeping us awash with info, Admin!
SO excited for the next album, please don’t make us wait guys, you clearly have so much more to give the world.
Can anybody confim Mike Patton’s current weight?
What an amazing year to be a FNM fan. I loved seeing them live a few times in NYC. Thanks to FNM 2.0 for keeping is fans updated with tours news. I be seen the band live since the Angel Dust tour and thosbis the best I’ve seen them. I’m still digesting Sol Invictus and think it’s one of their best albums yet. I’ve got a set list from the May 14th show and have it framed with the ticket. Thank you FNM and all the FNM die hard fans for the good times.
Alright, so if you see 3 comments from me (this being the 3rd posted now) it’s because these comments are “awaiting moderation”, puuuuu-leeeeeeeeze already guys ?
All because I posted the title of the song Faith No More opened their set with last night not once, but twice not being told any different on this silly page (talk about hypocrisy).
If you were there, sing that song LOUD ‘N’ PROUD (that’s what FNM’s moderator want’s us to do….).
Anyway, still love you guys, Roddy, Billy, Puffy, John and Mike. I’ll take it “in stride”.
I would’ve bought a “GIMP T-SHIRT” last night too, but he never even bothered showing up at the last show of the tour….?!?
M’kay…..?
I was one of the few in the audience that was at the Billy Idol show in November ’91 (not like they believed anyone with their hand raised, lol……). The show FNM put on last night was “epic” (4th time seeing them since opening for Metallica in ’89 at Cal Expo. Last saw them on the first night of the 2 Warfield shows in April and it was just as good (for a shorter set with only @ 3 new songs as compared with @ 6-7 in April. I love “Sol Invictus”, but was SO GLAD I saw this “last show” of the tour. Opened with “Motherfucker”, and while I was singing along to it on my way to a “port-o-potty”, had a guy actually ask me the name of the song, fucking classic festival bullshit. The highlights for me were “:Mofo'”, “Caffine”, “Epic”, “Mid-life Crisis”, “Separation Anxiety”, “Superhero”, “The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies” and “Just A Man”(!!!), soooo bad-ass. My ONLY complaint (and I showed up late just to catch the last 3 bands at that), was that Jane’s had to open for Deftones (even in Sacto, sorry locals. It just wasn’t cool. Chino’s been really vocal over the years about certain California bands that influenced Deftones, and Jane’s Addiction (along with FNM trailing behind a little) leads the pack. It would’ve been FUCKING SUPERB had it been Deftones, Jane’s and then FNM playing in that order. I have seen FNM (4X now in this life since ’89), Jane’s @ 12 + and Deftones,…..? EASILY,……25X living in Sacto and seeing them play places like the Cattle Club in 1990 forward. And I will always love that band, but respect should be given when respect’s due, and it was “overdue” last night. Other than that…? THOSE 3 BANDS KILLED IT. word.
Arrived at 5pm and somehow didn’t have to show the tix we’d already paid for or pay for parking. Coheed was ending their set and the only thing better than seeing Jane’s Addiction live w/ Deftones and FNM, would’ve been putting Deftones before Jane’s (I’ve seen Deftones well over 20X’s in this life, Jane’s around 12 and FNM 4 total.), I know Deftones are Sac locals (duh, right?) but the line-up would’ve gone smoother. I came too see all 3 of those bands BTW (so no hate mail ?). FNM and Jane’s put on incredible performances, as did the ‘Tones, but I wasn’t digging their set until half way in. Seeing them 2X local in 3 years at the same festival when they played an “off-the-hook” gig at Ace O Spades 4 years early just “tainted” my memories of that club gig. And to everyone who thinks I’m hating: “Did you attend all of the shows I just mentioned and notice something I didn’t ?” Still love the Deftones, but FNM and Jane’s “brought it” last night…………..word, out.
Great review, but no need to trash the Deftones. They killed their set, and with Sac being their hometown the audience was really, really feeling it. Seeing these two bands back to back is a dream come true. Those final two hours are definitely burned into my memory forever.
Very detailed review, Adam, thanks for that. Glad to hear they finished strong. They are on a roll now and hopefully they continue with it next year.
We were there and it was tremendous. One always worries about festival shows because of shortened sets and diffuse fan bases. But FNM crushed it last night. It was sorely needed after sitting through 70 minutes of the tuneless mess that is The Deftones.
To these ears, the band seemed incredibly tight and ferocious. Separation Anxiety was an absolute juggernaut…it shook the ground. Epic was particularly good–they gave it a bit more conviction than I’ve seen at past shows. Mike Bordin was on fire. His sound was thunderous and I heard so many new fills that he no doubt perfected over the course of the tour.
Patton’s voice was as clean and clear as I’ve heard since the 2010 shows; effortlessly hitting all the notes during the night’s closer, Just A Man. Shredding with precision on Gentle Art and Superhero. Nailing a verse and chorus of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road” during the Midlife breakdown. It was clear he was feeling good. Roddy also acquitted himself well on Motherfucker and carrying the chorus of Be Aggressive. Both he and Patton had fun talking about the last time they were in Sacramento–opening for Billy Idol!
I saw them early on their tour in Portland and they were a little shaky. The band I saw last night was a cohesive force of nature.
Congrats to FNM on the great year they had… can’t wait to see what they come up with next. The more new songs the better!
