Puffy interview in Peru press

October 25th, 2009|Faith No More|0 Comments

Mike Bordin (c)

Mike Bordin (c)

They’re all at it now. El Comercio in Peru today features an interview with Faith No More drummer Mike “Puffy” Bordin. Puffy speaks about Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chains, his drumming influences and his admiration for Mike Patton – “his voice is a gift from God”. However, perhaps the most interesting snippet is the final question of the interview:
“Finally, what are Faith No More’s personal plans?:
[Puffy Bordin] Faith No More has tried to be very honest about this: we are not doing many shows. The people in Lima have the opportunity to see Faith No More before people in New York or Los Angeles. And we’re doing it because we want to. We have no big plans, we are just doing shows and playing to see how we feel. If something happens later, it will be because our schedules match and because we all want to. There are no plans to make an album, we are just going to do some shows. For now the doors are closed but not secure. My more immediate plan is to return to play with Ozzy, we have work next year, to finish the new album.”
If anyone can make a more exact translation than my Google and other software effort, please let me know.

UPDATE: Santiago’s very own Parxi has translated most of the article here. Thanks.

New Roddy interview

October 17th, 2009|Faith No More|0 Comments

Peruvian newspaper El Comercio features an interview with Faith No More keyboardist Roddy Bottum.
Sample quote:  “I don’t know if it ever happened to you: having the nightmare of going to college and discovering that you have not studied for a test.  Something similar happened to me before the first concert of the tour: I dreamed that up on stage and did not remember the songs by Faith No More. We were very prepared.  I think Mike is singing even better than before. We have not played together for 15 years but stayed in music, looking to improve on what we do.”

Links for a day…(vol:36): Faith No More rider revealed?

October 12th, 2009|Faith No More|0 Comments

  • Chilean newspaper El Mercurio has apparently unearthed the rider for Faith No More’s show in Santiago, Chile on 29 October. The newspaper reports that FNM request 20 places for their technical team and band management and 30 for family and friends while the headline is “Security, pornography and a butcher knife requested by Faith No More.” I am unable to even Google-translate the article so I may have missed some details but I can garner that they have requested various wines, whiskey, vodka and champagne as well as pizzas, sushi and local dishes. Among the reading material requested, the paper reports, are newspapers The New York Times, USA Today, The Guardian and The Sun as well as magazines Time and Newsweek.
A full translation from any of our Spanish speakers would be much appreciated.
  • Rumours of a cancellation of Faith No More’s concert in Peru in Lima on 27 October have been dismissed by the concert promoters. reports promoters spokesman Fiorella Rodriguez as saying that the concert wil go ahead and that ticket sales are going well. The news comes after reports that Alberto Menacho, reported as a spokesman for the event organisers, had asked fans to buy tickets quickly to avert a cancellation.
  • The Mike Patton Chile site reports that negotiations are advanced to bring Chuck Mosley to Chile to support Faith No More.
  • More details on Chuck Mosley’s New York CMJ festival date, confirmed for 22 October, here.
  • Although not everyone is a fan of Chuck’s We Care a Lot 2.0.
  • For the record, here is the track. Not sure its that bad but certainly not a patch on the original lyrically or musically.
