Brixton ticket sale complaints

May 11th, 2009|Tour dates|8 Comments

A number of users have been in contact after missing out on tickets due to the seemingly chaotic sales procedure. (Full disclosure: I picked up two tickets successfully so have no personal gripe). However, Fantomas No More a long-time fan and blogger left this comment on the site and I feel it merits a guest post slot.

“Well another fine mess for us all to moan about.

Here is the crack, I HAVE download tickets, I know my way around a computer and know a trick or two but the pre-sale for Brixton tickets to Download holders did not happen as far as I am aware. With regards to the regular sale, I was waiting, waiting and waiting and even waited some more but the tickets did not become available on 3 sites that I was using on the day.

Typically we have been fu**ed over again.

Any of you guys read this from the band take a look at http://www.getmein.com thay have (at the time of this rant) 39 tickets available ranging from £126.50 (192.69. US$) to £198.00 (301.00 US$)

Guess what!! yes its a TICKETMASTER company.

Any of you know me I am a huge fan of Faith No More, Mike Patton in general going back to 1988 when I first saw them.

I will not pay this price for these tickets, nor would any true fan.

My advise to anyone reading this would be to get a day ticket from Download at £65 per ticket plus the crappy “booking fee” of £6 and enjoy the day.

If anyone from the band is reading, sort this out, you don’t need this kind of promotion, make the tickets yourself, add £5 to each one and sell them through Ipecac or Koolarrow.

Just my thoughts.”

Brixton update

May 8th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

Very possibly because of the large number of people who were able to access the pre-sale due to the number of links floating around since Wednesday, it appears that general sale tickets for Faith No More have sold out almost as soon as they went on sale. I have read Tweets of people buying tickets on eBay for inflated prices but have yet to see any on sale there myself.

The Brixton Academy are giving away tickets in a competition here.

Faith No More to play Poland

May 7th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

As we previously speculated and Roddy Bottum has previously Twinted, Faith No More will play the Open’er Festival in Poland on Saturday 4 July.

My Google-Translate translation of a quote from organiser Mikołaj Ziółkowski of Alter Art is: “For many years it seemed that this concert would never come into effect. However, after eleven years of waiting …with the great joy ywe can today announce that at this year’s edition will be a true legend of music – Faith No More. ”

Tickets are on sale at www.ticketpro.pl and www.eventim.pl.

After apparently selling out all 13,000 tickets for their Kaisaniemi Park, Helsinki concert in ten minutes, Faith No More have been confirmed for the Ruisrock Festival in Finland on Sunday 5 July. Also playing that day are Volbeat, Calexico and The Gaslight Anthem, while Slipknot, Mew, Disturbed, The Sounds and Glasvegas also play that weekend at the festival which takes place in Turku. Day tickets are €60.

Faith No More for Lowlands

May 6th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

The Lowlands festival in the Netherlands has confirmed that Faith No More will play there on the weekend of 21-23 August. Given their Highfield and Area 4 engagements that weekend we can assume that the re-formed band will play the Biddinghuizen festival on Saturday 22 August. The self-styled Glasto meets Goa festival also features Fall Out Boy, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys and the Kaiser Chiefs. The English section of the website states that all tickets for the festival are already sold out.

Brixton pre-sale

May 6th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

Update. There are still tickets available here.
(Thanks Ben for the tip. I now have my tickets.)

The pre-sale for the Brixton Academy (O2 Academy at Brixton) gig on 10 June was already sold out by 1030 CET this morning. A number of fans were able to access the Ticketweb link via the Download Festival forum or after having received an email. Here’s hoping there are still plenty of tickets left for the general sale on Friday at 9/10 UK/CET time.

I narrowly failed to get a ticket this morning. After successfully getting the final ticket on sale I forgot to put in my CVC number and the same was gone. Doh! Roll on Friday.

Southside and Hurricane update

May 5th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

Somewhat belatedly we can acknowledge that Faith No More will play the main stage at Southside on Sunday 21 June with a slot from 22:00 to 23:30, the same time as Kraftwerk for any krautrock/synthpop fans out there. Earler in the day you can warm up for Faith No More with The Mars Volta, The Pixies, Duffy, Social Distortion, The Horrors, The Rakes and, er, Katy Perry and many, many more. For the sister Hurricane festival, Faith No More will play on Saturday 20 June with a headlining slot of 23.00 to 00:30 which means you’ll blissfully miss Ben Harper at the same time.

(I had planned to go to these two dates but have a stag do this weekend so I’ll be hitting Frankfurt on 22 June instead (and hopefully Brixton, Greenfield, Rock In Idro, Area 4, Highfield, Sziget and Rock en Seine too.)

Greenfield update

May 5th, 2009|Tour dates|0 Comments

The Greenfield festival now has its daily plan available for the weekend festival. We already knew Faith No More will play on the Saturday 13 June and now we know the likes of Billy Talent, The Ting Tings, The Wombats, Parkway Drive, Less Than Jake, Guano Apes and Volbeat will play on the same day. Nightwish headline the Friday with Slipknot topping the bill on the Sunday. Still no news on day tickets but event passes are on sale here.
