As The Worm Turns
Leading Austrian paper Der Standard has a good review of last night’s gig at the Nova Rock festival. Sample quote: “The band played a fantastically funny and thrilling set with allusions to Vangelis, the 80s Motown sound and a band that used to be faith No More.”
ViennaOnline also has a short positive review.
Die Presse also give a glowing review. As do Austrian state broadcaster ORF, who reveal that FNM did not play We Care a Lot and that Patton described some other bands at the festival as “horrible metal bands”.
No news on set list yet.
Hey!!! we’re those guys from venezuela 🙂
Hey dudes, just came back to venezuela, we’re the guys who had the sign on first row. Loved the show, great festival. Fnm was totally worth it. i’ll upload all the fnm pics i took in a little while.
take care
Ps. Evidence in spanish was totally because of us 🙂
Dunno if this will work but here are some photos I took at Novarock… u can also see Mike getting down ti the Photograper area….

Yeah, sometimes I really ask myself who pays those fucking engineers, they partially screw up almost every show I go to.
Oh, I almost forgot the Fan-on-stage incident during Easy, A goy walked calmly on the stage literally from out of nowhere, After a few awkward second where whether the audience nor anybody on stage realised that that guy was not supposed to be there, Mike started laughing and a security guard tried to grab the dude, so he ran back to where he came from. During the solo Patton asked: “Anybody else wanna come on stage and make a fool of himself? It’s toootaly worth it!”
I just cracked myself up.
Some interesting things about the show:
– Mike went down to the photographs in the middle of one song (Just A Man i think)
– No Popcorn version, instead of that a long speech of Patton saying that forgot the words of Midlife Crisis
– Evidence last verses in Spanish… maybe due to a guys from Venezuela, showing a poster like “We came here just to see FNM”.
– A guy went into the stage to hug Patton. No security guys seen this guy, but a member of the crew kick off. Same guy went into the stage in NIN performance.
– Mike P. and Mike B. spit each other along the concert.
– Mike P. was reaaaaaaaaaally angry about the sound of their microphone. He had very aggressive reaction to the sound engineer
Looks like they completely f*cked up the beginning of Ashes to Ashes.
They went into the chorus too soon.
thx
I think so. i’m not that familiar with him but someone on Twitpic said they spotted him in the background of one of Roddy’s pics.
hey, could I see Tim Moss (from band Man of Porn) at the stage on Nova Rock?
Damn, I was hoping that leg injury wasn’t that serious …
I see As The Worm Turns makes an Appearance. 🙂

Gathered some setlist facts here (see comments) – oh so incomplete: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/faith-no-more/2009/nova-rock-nickelsdorf-austria-33d67c65.html
Well if we talk about small interesting facts I found this (Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails): Trent watched few songs of Faith no more set, he stood among other invited guest, which is cool. I like great musicians who are still normal persons. http://forum.nin.com/bb/read.php?21,745730,746403
Thanks Lakerboy for the info.
I just came back from Novarock, I don’t know the exact setlist, but I have noticed some changes. From Out Of Nowhere was dropped, and I had a feeling that the set was in general shorter compared to Download… No We Care A Lot, maybe the only minus of the setlist. One of the last songs was As The Worm Turns, haven’t heard that one in a while…
I’ve loved it, the only other annoying thing was Pattons leg injury, I mean not so much for the audience but obviously for him, I thought it affected his performance in a strange way… hi did sing great but that guy was definitely in pain, imagine Kobe Bryant playin hoops with a leg injury… probably a win but a kinda ugly performance.
Also some minor technical problems with one of his mics… But all that said, one really should never underestimate FNMs effort and their ability to play a good and memorable show no matter what.
