Welcome to all our new readers and welcome back to all you regular FNM 2.0ers. This is more what we usually get up to here, regular posts about shows and despite a world first of broadcasting their gig on Chat Roulette, Mike Patton did not get little Mike out at Faith No More’s latest Australian Soundwave date at the Melbourne Showgrounds.
We don’t have a finalised set list yet but what we have via setlist.fm is below and a video has already popped up on YouTube.
Video:
Set list:
- Don’t Dream It’s Over
- From Out Of Nowhere
- Land of Sunshine
- Be Aggressive
- The Gentle Art Of Making Enemies
- Pokerface/Chinese Arithmetic
- Last Cup of Sorrow
- Cuckoo for Caca
- Easy
- Ashes to Ashes
- Midlife Crisis
- I Started a Joke
- Digging The Grave
- King For A Day
- Epic
- Just A Man
- This Town Ain’t Big Enough for Both of Us
- We Care A Lot
Regarding most outrageous Patton moments onstage, I have an audio recording of a 1997 FNM concert at the Warfield and one incident is surely the sickest. He tells the audience that his mother is in the audience, the crowd cheers and claps, and then Patton asks his mum if she’d like to f–k him. Jeesuhs!
The setlist is wrong, it should be:
1 Don’t Dream It’s Over
2 From Out Of Nowhere
3 Land of Sunshine
4 Be Aggressive
Midlife Crisis had the same interlude as the other Melbourne shows (the intro to Sir Duke)
The video I saw of “This Town…” was mind blowing. I can’t get myself to listen to the original song (it sucks, actually), but their live cover of it was just amazing! I think Patton is at his best in these faster paced, more chaotic songs.
Here is some chatroulette video:

This Town Ain’t Big Enough For The Both Of Us was an awesome surprise. When they busted it out at Brissy Soundwave there was absolute silence. And Switch was amazing!! No one had any idea what the hell they were playing. The little disco breakdown halfway through Midlife Crisis was pretty awesome as well. Thanks blokes for makin me one happy camper!!
WARFIELD WARFIELD WARFIELD
Will write a longer piece at some stage for both the Feb 25th Melbourne show and Melbourne Soundwave, but please note Land Of Sunshine was definitely played after From Out Of Nowhere. Sing and rejoice!
@ the Petro The internet is your friend http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/cliff-kuang/design-innovation/welcome-weirdest-new-internet-past-time-chat-roulette
Oh yeah, they played “Land Of Sunshine” between “From Out Of Nowhere” & “Be Aggressive” too!
I have photos on my FB of the whole Chatroulette thing on the screens!! Great show!! I got some video of Mike talking to one guy too!! So funny!!
Can someone tell me what chatroulette is?

Give him a break!!! HE WAS SOFT!!!. I hope he pulls it out at The Warfield and does the drill bit or the brain or the bat wing.
Are you serious?! They broadcast their gig on Chatroulette? I’ll take your word for it!
I really have to see the Melbs shows (I mean both, I was quite busy these days) and HELL YEAH he did it again with getting Mikey Jr. out !! I dunno why he’s so into Chatroulette (even though I got my personal idea which answer this) but it’s funny to watch the “soft sweat spaghetti” as I niciknamed it !! 😉
As Lusty said (hi Lusty!!) female fans were quite happy of it. For instance, FB mates were all like “OMG THE DIVINE SAUSAGE” !! It’s too funny, I laughed my ass off when I saw it.
They played again “Don’t Dream It’s Over” mhwahahaahahah
I always knew it was a joke but I prefer so far this version than the original one… seriously it sucks !! But this one’s great !! 😉
That Patton peen thing spread like wildfire. Suddenly the picture is all over celeb gossip sites – congrats Mike, you’re finally a rock star 😉
Don’t think it’ll win him anymore female fans, though heh, but doing rididulous stuff like that is why WE love him, eh? You should put together a chart of Patton’s most outrageous onstage moments (please include when he calls a toddler at a show a “little fucker.”)
Can’t wait to see what he does at the Warfield!
