According to the Holland Festival official website, Mike Patton will return to Europe in June for a sole date at the festival. Billed as a “full-length programme centred on Luciano Berio’s masterpiece Laborintus II, Laborintus II: Mike Patton, Luciano Berio” the performance will take place on 18 June at the Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ.
The website description reads: “Mike Patton is not one to shy away from experiments. The frontman of Faith No More guest stars in a programme featuring Luciano Berio’s 1965 masterpiece Laborintus II, a modern concert chamber opera based on works by Dante, TS Eliot and Ezra Pound. Ictus, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and video-collective Visual Kitchen support Patton and his musical guests. Laborintus II mixes a whole range of musical styles, from dramatic opera to ‘60’s European jazz. After the break Patton will hold an improvisation session with a host of greats from the international jazz scene. The evening is rounded off with a steaming DJ-set inspired by Italian B-movies.” Full details here. You can also order tickets from that link and full ticket details are here.

at last, got the tickets, made it to 13th row…
going there as a singleton, would be weird, but so excited anyway!!!
now it’s the time for getting the cheap flight and some decent accommodation. any hints on good hotel? (preferably w. Patton checked in hahaha) or anything worth seeing in Amsterdam?
Yaaaaaaaaaaay !!
I’m ordering my ticket and then, have some fun in Amsterdam !!! Who’s in ? 😉
Agreed. Not sure when that would happen.
Thiago -that could be. But I’m starting to think that if they do a US tour (outside of Warfield and Coachella) perhaps it will come at the end of Summer, not in April or May like I first thought. I mean, they are kinda running out of time if they are still planning US dates after Coachella!
got my ticket too. will there go anyone from middle/southern germany? i dont want to go by train … 😉
Lusty,
I think Billy meant they were heading to SF from Australia, bc that’s their hometown.. not necessarily bc of the US shows.
Got my ticket! Thanks to this site. Thanks.
[…] FNM2.0 has some more info Luciano Berio and Laborintus II here […]
Seems its lasting longer then we thought…. New album…… please
Big news for European fans. FNM will return to Europe in July, Sonispehere festival in Spain: http://es.sonispherefestival.net/970/
Im sure the US will get more shows, Us aussies got a fair few in a short time. A friend of mine was at the last show in Perth and couldnt get over how tight the band were, Mike and the whole crew seem to enjoying themselves.. Fingers crossed for that new album!
WARFIELD WARFILED WARFIELD
I will literally shit myself if they don’t tour near here. Like, I will shit my pants, and it will be a really gross watery shit too. I’ve been saving up for a while now, and every day that goes by without any news on if they’ll even be playing in any place aside from Cali makes me more and more pissed off.
THOUGH, FNM is touring sporadically – their legs all have months in between, so it’s entirely possible that the P-man can do his side-projects** in between FNM tour dates. Which doesn’t mean the FNM tour will end in June, it’s just unlikely the US tour will go into then since they are starting in April. At least, that’s what I get out of the Warfield “warm-up” shows.
Funny though, that Gould’s Twitter status said “next stop San Francisco” and not the USA. Guess we’ll have to wait for those tour dates…ANY DAY NOW, GUYS 😛
** I’ve come to realize that Patton probably considers FNM a side-project
That’s just awesome. I was at Mondo Cane i Paradiso at the Holland Festival (was that 2008?) and that was really fantastic…. Thanks for this news. MP is such a creative music god, I can only just adore him.
If Anybody still needs tickets for Wednesday April 14th I have 3 floor tics. Just let me know. I physically have them in my possesion. Will send asap.
I was really hoping the reunion would last, but it looks like Patton has already attached the expiration sticker. I guess a new FNM album wasn’t a realistic hope. Wouldn’t mind hearing the guys getting back with Chuck though. Still… can’t wait for Warfield!
Well, Mike happens to be a part of FNM, sooo…
This makes me wonder how many US dates there will actually be.
I thought this was FNM 2.0 not MP 2.0!!!
Well I guess this means the US tour ain’t going into June…
Sounds like this is Mondo Cane in disguise…speaking of, what are the chances of MC touring the US? I’m thinking it’ll be very low, but I’m still hoping!
Cheers,
Lusty
