Triumphant from their valedictory return to San Francisco, Moaner of Hit move on to Coachella for their sub-headline appearance on Saturday.
Here’s what you need to know:
Set time
Faith No More will take to the Coachella stage from 7.55 to 8.45.*
*Thats 04.55 on Sunday in Central Europe, 03.55 in the UK and Ireland, 12.55 on Sunday in Sydney and 22.55 on Saturday in Chile.
Other bands I’d recommend on the Saturday are The Gossip, The Raveonettes, White Stripes-ish new UK band Band of Skulls, the xx, MGMT (I even like their new album) and MUSE (even if I don’t much like their newer stuff). All a bit Pitchfork indie maybe for some but there’s plenty on the weekend for all to enjoy. Be warned though that some European bands may not show due to the ash clouds over here disrupting flights – The Cribs have cancelled and Gary Numan is not expected to make it either. Muse, Florence and the Machine and others are already in the US so no drmaa there.
Webcast
Hopefully, the rest of us will be able to catch the Faith No More set on the Coachella webcast.
More details here
The festival will be streamed on Facebook and MySpace.
(Cheers to Dan’s FaithNoMoreBlog for the tip)
Previews
FNM have been getting a lot of love from the US media in their Coachella previews. Here’s a selection:
New York Times
Las Vegas Sun
Artist Direct
(Complete with Patton quote:”In terms of festivals in the U.S., I can’t think of a better one or a more appropriate one. The San Francisco shows are basically warm-ups for us. We’re doing them in our hometown and it’ll be like a high-five type of evening.”)
Los Angeles Times/Brand X

Puffy is not in the tour!
I know Ozzy’s tour is confirmed, I read all about it, but I am still puzzled to how the hell he will be able to actually go ahead with it! He will have to undergo extensive physio, exercise, proper health plan, etc. if he’s to be fit enough. Even when I saw him in 2002 he waddled onto the stage and it was fun to watch, but he could barely get around the stage then and that was almost 8 years ago!
*or not
Sophie, Ozzy’s tour is confirmed. Whether Puffy is in it or now…that’s the question. 🙂

(Sorry if I double posted…my comments aren’t showing up)
Anyway, it looks like the new guy re-recorded Puffy’s parts on the new album!
It looks like there isn’t anything keeping ANY of the guys out of FNM!
Here’s the link on Ozzy’s official site. If you look it lists his current band, and Puffy isn’t on the list!

I remember that Puffy had talked about recording the new album, but it looks like Ozzy had his new drummer re-record those parts.
Anyway, Bordin’s main focus looks like its FNM!
The drummer on Ozzy’s new album is Tommy Clufetos so I’d presume that he and not Puffy will be on that tour too. Got to be good news from a Faith No More perspective.
SeanL…where did you read that info about Bordin????? That is very good news!!!!
I would be very surprised if Ozzy ever tours again. He’s not fit enough, hasn’t really been for years. My friend saw him backstage at a Paul McCartney concert at the Hollywood Bowl a few weeks ago and he can barely walk straight without being aided by Sharon. The same goes for Steve Tyler, he was looking terrible apparently.
Ahhh, just checked again. Is the webcast not live then? That would explain it.
Are those times correct? EST is 5 or 6 hours behind BST. The article says FNM will be onstage 03.55 UK time. Unless I’m missing something that is miles out.
Sean, where did you read this? Can you share the link? I was bummed for reading that Ozzy will get on a 18 month tour and thought Puffy was in. http://bit.ly/clyXIo
I just read that Mike Bordin has left Ozzy’s band so that he can focus on touring with Faith No More. I remember a while back when he was talking like FNM was a side project to Ozzy…
Its hard not to get my hopes up. Why would he leave now if they aren’t going to continue on? The tour has been going on for a long time…they have to be thinking about the future.
I went on the 5 Gum app on Facebook, and it added Faith No More to my itinerary. So I guess they added them in!
I don’t think they’ll be on the webcast. Both the Facebook and MySpace Webcast pages are sponsored by 5Gum and require you to install their app. I did, and the set lists are missing most of the big acts, and are loaded with mostly unknown bands. Fingers crossed that that changes, but I kind of doubt it.
If you’re there on Saturday, I highly recommend Porcupine Tree as well! They hit one of the smaller stages at 2pm.
To Jimbo,
They’re sub-headliners so that’s to be expected. Most of those bands have like 20 minute sets! I don’t know about you, but 50 minutes of Faith No More is better than none!
Besides, we can watch it for free.
Thanks for the webcast info 🙂
50 minutes set…
Hmm hmm
That’s a shame.
