  • Faith No More return to the stage on this Friday 2 July with the first of their two dates at the Williamsburg Waterfront in Brooklyn. What to expect? Well, Bill’s most recent Tweet suggests something special: “We’re planning 1 special song, for 1 performance only in this next leg, though we’re not going to say which show.”
  • Meanwhile, Roddy has tweeted details for the 5 July date at the same venue: “Doors 530, James Chance maybe 6 or 630, Neil Hamburger at 7 or 730, FNM at 8.”
  • And Philadelphia is getting ready for FNM on Saturday. Preview from the CityPaper.
  • As most of you will know, Roddy has now started blogging. Check him out.
  • Roddy also previewed a new limited edition t-shirt that will be on sale at the East Coast shows. Looks pretty cool. Can someone pick me up a size L?
  • And continuing the Roddy special, Happy Birthday!!

  • Poster for 3 July show in Philadelphia revealed via Secret Serpents (on sale 4 July at 10:00 am PST at the Secret Serpents webstore)
  • Eagles of Death Metal say nice things about Faith No More: “We just got off of tour in Australia with Faith No More and they are f*****g killer. Mike Patton is a genius. They literally killed every f*****g night.” From a cool Examiner interview.
  • Behind the Music: Courtney Love aired on 21 June on VH1 and apparenttly featured an interview with a member of Faith No More, which I am presuming is Roddy. You can – if you are in the US – watch the full episode. If anyone in the US would be so kind as to capture Roddy’s clip(s) and send or upload that would be much appreciated.
  • More Roddy. Here’s the pic he tweeted of Imperial Teen in the studio.
  • Not sure if this has seen the light of day before but here is Faith No More doing Epic on Arsenio Hall from 1990:

  • And we’re back. Hope all is well out there. Been a bit quiet on the FNM front and I’ve been up to my neck with various extracurricular projects and gig-going, so here’s an overdue round-up.
  • Mike Patton was back on stage in Amsterdam on Friday when he performed Laborintus II. Arno (tbeest) was there and has posted these videos:
  • Vrouwjke has sent me an interview (pdf) she did with Patton about the Laborintus project. (In Dutch)
  • The National have more details on Mike’s worth with Alan Moore, out on 5 July. And Wired have some more info here.
  • Mike’s latest Mondo Cane interview in Verbicide. Sample quote: “I am so a Beyonce fan. I am not gonna lie. If you wanna go really obvious and ignorant, then I will go with Beyonce.”
  • Rather remarkably, there appears to be still tickets available for the Faith No More shows in Brooklyn on 2 July and Philadelphia on 3 July. Get your tickets.

More Mike Patton Mondo Cane interviews

June 3rd, 2010|News|39 Comments

Mike has completed his 2139th interview to promote Mondo Cane this week. Limewire have posted an interesting Q and A – “As far as how do I get away with it, that is easy, I just do it. Anyone could! There are no rules. Who is to tell Justin Bieber he can’t do a reggae record?”.

Sample quote: “[Limewire] Mike Patton is NOT God. Please discuss. [Mike Patton] Is that a question? I don’t think that was phrased as a question. So you lose Double Jeopardy! It is too bad, because that would or could have been such a good question for me to answer. It is certainly a subject that I spend countless hours thinking about. But you dropped the ball on this one and your loyal readers have only YOU to blame. Way to go! Now, I must go, I have numerous souls that I need to condemn to hell.”

Sticking to the Bizarre, Mike also has two interviews in print magazines – remember those? – this week. First up is the British compendium of weird Bizarre. As I only buy Bizarre for the pictures, if any lands a copy of this can they scan the interview?.

He also features in the latest interview with Rock a Rolla magazine.

Here’s an old (2006) interview of Mike with Bizarre for your amusement.
