After 75 shows in 34 countries, The Second Coming Tour has come to an end.
Here’s the band saying goodbye – for now at least – with their Manhattans cover, the 57th different song the band performed on the tour.

“This has got to be the saddest day of my life
I called you here today for a bit of bad news
I won’t be able to see you anymore
…
I’m gonna miss you, I can’t lie
Understand me, won’t you try
It’s gonna hurt me I can’t lie.”
Send us your thoughts on the tour, your experiences and your hopes for FNM’s future below.
Thanks for coming along here for the ride.
You’re welcome, folks! Glad you love it as much as I do! It literally took me years to hunt that bootleg down. I originally wanted it for “World is Yours”…I went berserk when I saw that Caffeine and R.V. were on there too!!
I do have it in FLAC and Apple lossless formats as well but it was too big to upload to Mediafire, etc. If you’re familiar with the sharing site soulseek
http://www.slsknet.org/
I have this bootleg along with all my FNM music shared (a lot of it is in FLAC format as well as Apple Lossless and mp3s). I recently ripped all of my FNM albums, singles and CD bootlegs to a lossless format and scanned the art as well. I’m not a collector…I’m a listener!
My user name on Soulseek is Philo Electro. If I’m not online shoot me an email: symmewise @ gmail .com and I’ll hop on so you have access to everything.
Just a Fan…you have done it again…..this is right off the soundboard……PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! That version of caffeine is crazy…..thank you so much!!!!!!!! IT NEVER ENDS….NNNEEEVVVEERR…EEEVVVVEEERRR,,,,ENDS!!!!!!!
Holy shit!
I just listened to that Japan show this morning! Its got to be without doubt the best recording I’ve ever heard from them! direct from the sound desk! awesom set list! you can tell Patton is really experimenting with his screaming a bit and those creature screams and hell they are playing amazingly. great sounds over all just little in off in some areas. I thought I was hearing a studio demo or something 🙂 damn this should have been an official live DVD or CD release.
I’m thinking I’ll put these up on youtube as re-enhnaced versions with better EQ, the snare drum and vocals lacking a bit in the mix there are ways I can bring them up with some articulate equalisation.
I need to change my underwear now…
@Markus, i agree. KFAD is the best album FNM has recorded, the most variety, the most impressive vocals from Patton, the best songwriting, by far the best production. The best record I own, actually, and I own a lot. But, of course, I love every single album and every single song from FNM.
OMG guys, what were we all thinking!!!!!…’Rolling Stone’ have told us that this reunion has been ‘mildly successful / successful’……shit, fuck, bollocks….we have all completely wasted the last 2 years of our lives guys!!!
LOL…dont you just lurrrrrrve music jourlism.
Pffft! Rolling Stone seems to concentrate more on the “scene” part of the music scene than the “music” part.
Whatever… But you’d think that they’d hire a journalist who could unplug his head from his ass long enough to discover how successful they were outside the US, as Chris says. (Why didn’t I become a journalist?) Much heartfelt respect for AIC, but I think our guys were just as, if not more, successful.
Anyway, they love FNM in Portugal… I remember saying how I thought Optimus was one of their best shows – and here it is voted the best of the year 🙂

They beat out Prince and Shakira!
They call this a Second Coming tour? What tour? A few shows on the West coast and a few more on the East coast? Thankfully I was able to get out to see them in San Fran. and the LA shows but what about the other states? It kind of gave me the imperssion they were like “If you wanna see us, YOU have to come to US” I feel really bad for the fans throughout the states that couldn’t travel to see them. This tour left a bad last impression on me.
I mean, I am in fact a dude who lives in my mom’s basement and DID wear nice, fresh socks to the Warfield shows…but, come on! haha
I read that too. Hilarious. I actually only paid 2 dollars for my subscription to Rolling Stone and I feel robbed after I finish every issue.
In their current issue, Rolling Stone had this to say about Faith No More’s reunion (found on page 50): “Hairy dudes living in their mom’s basements got so psyched for this tour, they changed their socks. Fun fact: 95 percent of female fans at the shows were revealed to be Queen Amidala action figures.” Oh, American press, how you make me so proud to live here sometimes…
There was a meter at the top showing the success of 90s era band reunions and Faith No More was ranked as basically mildly successful/unsuccessful, behind Alice In Chains and Pavement.
Whatever, Faith No More came back and had the world in the palm of their hand, it’s just that Rolling Stone’s been too busy covering shit that no one cares about. They’re just bitter because they’ve lost all of their 90s luster…unlike Faith No More!
Just A Fan, thank you! The quality on the Tokyo show is amazing! A real treat!!!
thanks for putting those two shows up! i love the early version of caffeine and hearing patton in this transition phase is pretty f’ing cool.
Thanks Just a Fan. I had the San Paulo dvd so its nice not have to rip the audio from that myself.
Thanks Just A Fan! I’m downloading them now…:-D
@Integra. Here ya go: here’s two of the final shows that Faith No More performed before heading into the studio to record Angel Dust. The San Paulo show features R.V. and The World is Yours, while the Japan show contains those two songs as well as a rough version of Caffeine. It took me forever to hunt these down, by the way. Years, in fact!
What I find particularly interesting about these shows is that I find them to be an “in-between” stage between Patton’s Real Thing era of nasally vocals goofy outfits and wacky stage antics and the Angel Dust era of the greasy hair, goatee, eyebrow ring trucker-hat dark growling Patton. In these shows I found him to have almost a punk rock approach…screams instead of “wooooos” but not yet growls or low end gutteral utterances. For me, it’s a piece of the puzzle in understanding the dramatic change of his persona from The Real Thing to Angel Dust.
I love all of Faith No More’s albums but I by far find the Angel Dust era the most interesting. I remember reading an interview with FNM before Angel Dust was released and Patton blatently said, “If you think this album is going to be The Real Thing Part 2, you’d better wake up!” He went on to state that their record label flat-out told them that the album (Angel Dust) was commercial suicide. Fucking AMAZING.

Enjoy, and let me know your thoughts!
Thanks. Just A Fan!
There is video of the 1991 Rock In Rio show I’ve seen it in an interview with Mike Patton.
I’d also would LOVE to get my hands on a Japanese “Angel Dust” era show which they performed “The World Is Yours”
@Integra: From what I just read because I couldn’t find anything about a 1992 show:
Rock in Rio only occurred in 1985, 1991 and 2001 (at least in Rio, others occurred in Portugal and Spain in the mid to late 2000s).
Here’s the link to the audio I have of FNMs performance at Rock in Rio II…it’s missing a few songs and frankly, the quality is just so-so but it’s all that’s floating out there from what I’ve ever found…It appears that there will be a 4th Rock in Rio (in Rio de Janeiro) in 2011. Will Faith No More be there???????????????????????????
http://www.mediafire.com/?eztrtz96ll0ze83
@Justafan- I couldn’t find the link either and I finally actually read what darshun had written about its location. Kinda funny that it was there the whole time.
You know what would be really amazing..?
If Faith No More could get back together for one more show at Rock In Rio 2011 (actually in Rio this time) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their appearance there in 1991!

To me, the greatest FNM record is definitely King for a day. Songs like ricochet, the gentle art of making enemies, king for a day, just a man..magnificent! I really love the sound of album of the year too. So not really waiting for re-recordings from the 80’s stuff..
Integra, sorry but i have to disagree about Introduce Yourself and The Real Thing. To me they are worlds apart. My favorite FNM album is clearly Angel Dust but Introduce Yourself is probably my number two. Like others here have said, Chuck is technically not a very good singer and an aquired taste, but he has so much personality and originality. Introduce Yourself and some of the songs on We Care A Lot are among the best material they have done IMO. But i too would have loved if they’d rerecorded most of the Chuck material with MP (around 92 with the sound the have on As the Worm turns) I would especially love to hear R’n’R like that!
@ Adam. Nevermind. I found it a couple posts below the one that had the link to the 2nd night’s audio.
@ Adam I couldn’t find the link for Darshun’s recording of Hollywood night 1…only Night 2. Would you mind posting the link to night 1? Thanks a lot!
@Darshun- Just downloaded the bootleg from night one. Great job. Thanks on behalf of everyone that went being able to relive those two nights thanks to you.
“The Real Thing” was the next step up from “Introduce Yourself” both albums almost ride the same wave.
I can hear that “Angel Dust” is not anything like those 2 albums and sounds a little more like the “We Care A Lot” album
“King For A Day Fool For A Lifetime” was not like anything they’d ever done before and “Album Of The Year” played it safe and was also not really like any of their other albums in the past.
ok bullshit aside…
DOES ANYONE HAVE F.N.M. @ ROCK IN RIO 1991??? or 1992???
I agree Ti Mort. In all honesty, of all the FNM band member’s other works, I think Chuck’s album ranks up there with my favorite. And for a guy to release his first solo album near 50 and make it that good…impressive. Best production of any FNM player’s project as well. I think the later fans should understand that the band was already doing the Nestle song, War Pigs, and I think even Easy before Patton joined. The tongue-in-cheek style and charm of the band was fairly well ingrained from the beginning. Also, the dark lyrics with poppy melodies was also always a staple. The band really hasn’t changed much through all the changes, and I’m glad for that. Patton is clearly a better singer, but I agree with Chuck when he says that his addition was a unique charm, and the invention of rap/rock. I also appreciate Jim/Trey/Dean/Jon equally and am glad that all were in the band at some point. I like listening to the differences in the live playing. I wish Trey could have joined them on stage once this tour. This is my favorite band…wouldn’t want to change ANYTHING about it now (this is my favorite line up of the band because it works for them) or in the past.
I’ve been a fan for many years but I just got around to getting Introduce Yourself last year. I had heard many of the songs here and there but I never listened to the album as a whole on a regular basis. To me, Chuck’s vocal style is very similar to Patton’s on certain songs. I’ve wondered if Patton picked up on Chuck’s style on purpose or if it worked out that way because of the musical arrangements. Some of the album is reminiscent of Angel Dust and it definately has that core FNM sound. It’s a great album in my book, Chuck and all. I just wish We Care a Lot was more readily available.
I’m with you on the mosely stuff. Vocally it is utter crap to the point it is painful to listen to. I must not be a real fnm fan. The stuff played live with Patton is great though. They were like hearing new songs to me live as I never listened to it much before.
FYI…Chuck’s solo album is actually pretty good….
Totally disagree…this band became my favorite band when Mosley was still in it. Billy and Puffy are the core of this band IMO, I would say that primarily Billy’s songwriting it what made this band my favorite. Chuck’s voice couldn’t kill good writing, and I happen to like his contributions to the band. I wish I could have been at Warfield that night. Patton was a great addition to the band, but he is not the band.
I don’t know if I’m in the minority here but I can’t stand Moselys voice. For those who agree, how great would those first 2 albums be if they re recorded them with Patton like They did with As the Wirm Turns? Random thought lol…
Every f***in’ day I came to this site since FNM is back together, so glad you were here!
Does anyone know for sure if Patton never performed Spirit before? I was wondering the same thing. As much as I woulda killed to see Everythings Ruined I feel very lucky to see The Crab Song since it was the only time they performed it all tour( I believe lol).
ti mort- I love your enthusiasm lol. Let’s keep this thread going until we have a proper forum which I’m def looking forward to. This site has been my homepage since the first show and will remain that way.
Just A Fan….you just made my F**king day!!!! I think I now have everything they have ever recorded….THANKS AGAIN!!! Did the lyrics get re-recorded for that track? WILD…..can believe it….an FNM tune I have never heard before…mix or no mix….
CONGRATULATIONS ADMIN…AND FNM FAMILY…I BELIEVE THIS IS THE FIRST POST TO REACH 100 COMMENTS….CAN YOU TELL WE DON’T WANT TO LET IT GO….I’LL NEVER KISS AND SAY GOODBYE…JUST A FAN…THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH….U R THE BEST!!!!!
@Ti Mort. They played “Popcorn” (by Hot Butter) during the breakdown of “Midlife Crisis” several times.
Here’s the link to Last Cup of Sorrow (Dj Sharam vs FNM Club Mix)
http://www.mediafire.com/?g3lfm1s1vri5aat
Honorable mention – First time (I believe) of Patton doing Spirit.
Also, first time in 30 some years (I believe) of playing Pills For Breakfast.
That’s another aspect of FNM legacy that’s interesting. They have songs that they haven’t played for almost 1/3 of a century (“Would you offer your seat to Bill Gould if you saw him on the bus?”) that it’s almost like they’re covering their own songs when they play them now as FNM 2.0
