Got to say that the blog reanimation could not have been better timed; we have news oozing from every pore these days so here’s a relatively run-of-the-mill round-up.

  • Saying as it seems certain that FNM are back in Chile, here is a short interview with Mike Patton from Chilean blog/programme La Mierda en que Vivimos.
  • And a timely interview with veteran Northern Ireland noise merchants Therapy? in Ireland’s State magazine in which they recall an incident with Faith No More from a Sao Paolo show:
“We went on a South American tour, and on one date there was a bloody bottle in the dressing room. Two cops were in the dressing room with us, and Faith No More had just come off stage. One of the band reached over and grabbed the cops gun from his holster. The whole room froze, and the two South American cops – it was in Sao Paulo – just looked at each other and burst out laughing. It could have gone horrendously wrong.”
  • Roddy has tweeted that he will be playing a DJ in an upcoming movie and wants name suggestions:

  • In Celebrity Cafe, the past two years have not happened.
  • I don’t think we featured this before – Machine Head’s cover of Jizzlobber. (Some context)
  • Faith No More and Soundgarden at the L’Amour in New York in 1990

Some old video plundered from the archives via other excellent FNM sites as well as some overlooked new stuff from Roddy.

  • I missed this last month but belatedly here is the short Father’s Gay featuring a score from Roddy Bottum

  • Peeping Tom do Mojo on Conan in 2006 (via fnm4ever)
  • Leading Chilean newspaper La Tercera have wasted no time in speculating that Faith No More’s return to south America for the SWU festival could lead to the band playing the Maquinaria festival in Santiago the weekend before the Monday Sao Paolo date.
  • Some old favourites have been buffed up and uploaded to YouTube all shiny and new:

No current plans for studio album – Mike Patton

July 25th, 2011|Faith No More, News|15 Comments

Faith No More front man Mike Patton has again re-iterated that the band have no current plans for a new studio album in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Referring to the appearance at the SWU festival in Sao Paolo confirmed this week, he told the rock bible: “Other than that, we don’t have plans for a new recording or anything like that, we’re just taking it slow as it comes. Reunions can be done very distastefully I think, and we were all very worried about that. But I think we were all very surprised with how good it felt. It’s a tired old script: band splits up, gets hard up for cash, goes on tour and records a shitty record. We don’t want to be part of that kind of history.”

He also confirmed he is working on a new Tomahawk album and that the The Solitude of Prime Number soundtrack will be released in October by Ipecac.

Blog update

July 15th, 2011|News|6 Comments

Hi there
As you may have noticed, updates have been few and far between over the past few months. There are a variety of reasons/excuses – my hectic schedule, band’s lack of activity, hanging laptops, WordPress going crazy during last update – but apologies and thanks for keeping things going in the Comments.
Anyway, we aim to be back to normal service from this point on so look out for some updates over the next few days.
