- Happy Thanksgiving to all our US readers and there’s reason to give thanks today for the rest of the world too.
- The fnm4ever blog has come with the nifty idea of a Faith No More online museum. I’ll be sending some pics their way myself.
- A clever soundcloud mixing app – enter Faith No More and mix away to your heart’s content. Add your best mixes below in the comments and I’ll post them later. (via mbungle on Twitter).
- More and more Faith No More full-length concerts are popping up on YouTube. Here’s the latest – the Bizarre festival from 1997:
- You can now pre-order the new album from Roddy’s Imperial Teen. Check them out below:
- What do Justin Bieber, Glee and Mike Patton have in common? They’re all featured in this New York Times review of Christmas releases.
- And a final video or series of videos. The whole of Faith No More’s show at the Olympia in São Paulo in September 1991. Details here.
Damnn that Bizarre fest. was awesome! especially I Started A Joke , Pristina and Ashes To Ashes where Patton sang his heart out!!
Ignore integra’s post, it is some footage of Billy Ocean, like they’re trying to create a new meme (with 6 views so far). Pathetic really.
Anyway, the live stream that Ti Mort mentioned is at http://www.viax.cl/?p=45964 though there is no mention of FNM on the page at the moment.

im sorry…
Shakey,
Patton sang Faster Disco once to my knowledge, it was on 8-28-1990 in Germany. It was rather comical, as he “I don’t know the words” several times and then “and we want the song to end”. Having heard the Patton version, I have to say that I like Chuck’s versions better. In the show, Billy asks the audience if they want to hear a song they haven’t played in 3 years that will probably suck, or a song they play really well, and the audience goes for the ‘shitty’ one. They then proceed to also play The Jungle, Greed, R’N R, Blood, Why Do You Bother, Pills For Breakfast, etc. It’s a great show but the audio has an annoying high pitch to it. I have to give you an amen also…Faster Disco is my favorite song from IY, which is also my favorite album. I’d have to say that Midlife Crisis is my favorite song from them overall though.
HEY ADMIN…it seems as though part 2 of the Maquinaria Festival will be aired on line (via x) tomorrow at 8pm eastern time. Down Alice in Chains and then FNM….if this is so this will be one for the history books!!!!!!!!! Just thought you would want to know….like you don’t already….
Off topic, but have they ever played Faster Disco live with Patton? This is my favorite song on Introduce Yourself and I have never seen any video with Patton singing it. It would also be really cool if they were to sneak it in at some future gig,
Remixes suck. Anyway, it’s funny how I tend to enjoy the hell out of FNM performing songs from AOTY LIVE, especially when compare to the studio album. Sure there’s a FEW great songs on that thing, but overall it ranks as my least favorite FNM album musically. But their performances from their last tour in the ’90s were dynamite! very powerful & aggressive indeed. Mike never sounded better vocally as his crooner idols.
I got Bizarre on DVD. Very energetic aggressive performance. Love the suits 🙂
Bizzare gig is also one of my favourities. Love “Just a man” – always burst me into tears.
Here is a whole album of Patton related remixes.

Found a good FNM/Beck/Pendulum mix, which surprised me – a lot of the FNM mashups are truly dire.

Some of those mashups on the Soundcloud mixing app. are fun. The covers… not so much. There’s one thing I learned in my high school cover band: never try to cover FNM because you’ll just come off sounding pathetic in comparison.
I love Paths of Glory and Mouth To Mouth live, luckily have the audio of the few shows with those. This Bizarre Fest has always been one of my favorite shows by them. I think it has my favorite version of Epic…alot of energy. The 97 tour has a lot of great soundboard bootlegs.
Big thanks for the full show, something about the album of the year shows that make them fantastic viewing. Still hoping they dust off naked sat in front of the computer at some point, it sounds completely different live (and much better imo than the studio version).
