Faith No More were unable to perform at the Rock for People festival in the Czech Republic on Thursday night due to a major storm causing extensive damage at the festival site.
Festival organisers posted the following on their Facebook page:
“The extremely strong and unexpected storm that hit the Festivalpark at 9 PM damaged the main stages before Faith No More and Orbital were supposed to perform. Consequently, these concerts had to be cancelled. But thanks to the organizers and artists the festival continues – we are going to do our best to have the last day’s program on RfP according to the plan. We will provide you with more information during the night. Thank you all for your support and understanding.”
Faith No More resume their European tour on Saturday at Sonisphere France.

Well, I came all the way from Finland to see Faith No More (and of course the beautiful city of Hradec Králové) but I got something more: a f***ing insanely brutal storm that I’ve never seen in my life!
And the atmosphere in Staropramen flight hangar restaurant (open hangar, so you can see the thunder raging) was something that I’ll never forget: “Where is the party?! – Here is the party!”
And yes, it was a miracle that nobody died, but also in my opinion the storm didn’t take out the party spirit of czech people. As it didn’t on friday neither…
Loved every second of it, beautiful. I’ve seen FNM perform before, but I think that I won’t ever see a thunderstorm like this.
pansztyc, are you sure no compensation will be given? How come? I´m mostly bummed for the Czech fans, as I had seen the band the night before… plus 20 euro is not that insane a price to me as a Scandinavian. But still, I think I caught 1-2 good bands that night, so I´m obviously far from pleased.
Here is still huge hope in Czech Republic…
Please, support czech bummed and sad fans here:

Here is still huge hope in Czech Republic…
By Roddy’ tweet, it just doesn’t sound like the band is thinking of calling it quits (wanting to make up the show to the Czech Republic sometime). If the right venue comes up, like the shows in South America last year, my bet is that the band will stay together and try to keep things interesting for us. But by the lack of comments on this board this tour so far…it looks like this tour hasn’t been interesting enough for most. I like the snippets and bringing back some less-played tunes, but after South America and this far into a reunion, I think the standard for “interesting enough” would only be at least 1 other new song, or word that The Mystery Song will get a studio release at least with some B-side covers. There’s still hope with 3 big venues left…
A shame! Feel sorry for those about to attend the show… On a lighter note: found a good compilation-video of fnm-interviews on youtube (a lot of rare stuff):
This festival is a fuckin’ joke. I bet that at least 80% of people there came only to see Faith No More ! And now what? Everything’s ruined ! Orbital’s show was also cancelled and nobody really knew that Skrillex was set to play that night ! Three main stars and no concerts and what is the most ridiculous thing that the Rock For People staff says that they won’t return money ! I waited for this FNM gig and I’m so pissed off ! But I’m alive – I tell you, the thing that nobody died yesterday in that insane storm is a fuckin’ miracle ! My mate was almost hit in the head by the falling pole – you go to see FNM and you can die because of unstable constructions and tents. Surpise! You’re dead!
