While we have all been concentrating closely on new Faith No More music, some amazing old-school FNM live footage has appeared on YouTube in the past few days.
‘Tuber josephdabestslayerko has posted 4 great videos of obscure Faith No More live songs. His offerings include two covers including the previously unheard cover of Pearl Jam’s Jeremy.
Indeed, the source of the short Jeremy snippet has stumped even Faith No More gig database guru and chief FNMologist Andrew Bowie. The gig database curator has only one Faith No More Jeremy cover listed before (10 October 1992 in Upper Darby, PA) and this is not it:
The same YouTube account has also posted the band’s mash-up of The Cranberries Zombie and Metallica’s Enter Sandman. This one was recorded in Norway on 20 March 1995, a well boot-legged gig. Notably it featured on the Ferocious Neurosis bootleg.
Also from that YouTube account, two early FNM live efforts of New Beginnings and Arabian Disco. These are from 1988 and the only two gigs with confirmed setlists from that year are Liverpool and Norwich from May.
New Beginnings
Arabian Disco
When I heard that snippet of Jeremy, it sounded very familiar. I was at the October 12 1992 show in Glen Burnie, MD, I think it might be from then.
I love the audio you put up for New Beginnings though…I listen to that one all the time and laugh when Chuck says at the beginning “Does anybody remember laughter?”
There’s several other 1988 bootlegs with confirmed setlists…the Marquee club show here:

even has The Grade in the setlist, though it sounds rather bad b/c it’s not the right guitar for it. Plus Chuck shows from 86 and 87 have Arabian Disco in them. Several of them sound pretty good. The Denver show from 1987 even has a 20 minute long interview with the band, and the 1986 Warfield show has The New Improved Song.

Cheers for the info
Sorry – the rugby tackle one.

In regards the Jeremy cover – i think i recall “hothcanada” posting this on dimeadozen a few years back with a bunch of others
And this one where he rugby tackles billy into roddy and the instruments go flying – in and around 5:19 … He did say “sorry”
The first two covers formed part of a collection that was made available a decade or so ago. I’m not sure where it originated – maybe Dime/Zomb or another ROIO site – but it included some 50-70 FNM cover snippets and full songs that were pulled from various live recordings.
There are a bunch of similar complications that have been stitched together and uploaded to YouTube. Here’s one of them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETdL79jxYK8
I love the 92 Warfield video for jizzlobber – the end with the summersaults and roddy looks like he’s unconscious
