@weirdlittleboy – Wow, nice. I actually don’t consider myself a collector. I just don’t want second hand, cuz they might have imperfections that make them unplayable. I only buy CD’s, no digital or vinyl. I like physical copies cuz I have backups to my songs after I rip them. Add me on Steam if you’re a gamer – unless you ever engage in griefing, you are already dead to me so don’t even bother. The name is killswitch and I have Calvin (Calvin & Hobbes) as my avatar XD
@the pan: I usually use all my cds- The only double I bought was SI. How do you collect your stuff? You will have a lot of digital downloads, won’t you?
You know, I was born in 1975 so I grew up with vinyls and tapes. When I was about 15 I got my first compact disc player- and actually one of my first cds were TRT and Introduce Yourself. So I have a lot of discs, which are older than 20 years and I never recognized any troubles. Would you like to tell me something about your other hobbies/activities/your life in Canada?
@weirdlittleboy – So when you do find new CD’s you always take the plastic wrapping off so you can listen to the music? You never buy doubles or just digital on the side for listening purposes?
I was able to find 5 new Siouxsie albums for cheap, all original releases. I can’t believe they’re still around after all these years, as I’m assuming after remasters are released they no longer print originals. I personally have this aversion to previously used CD’s, so it might take awhile to find the others. What’s the oldest working CD you have? Do you ever worry that the humidity will damage it? I hear 20 years is a long life for them.
@the pan: I am looking for collectable used original releases like Singles or special editions from back them. So usually there’s no plastic wrapping anymore. But my Sol Invictus Vinyl is still wrapped…I have the Australian KFAD disc as well and though I already have had all the b-sides on it- it’s nice to own this Album. But I don’ t buy expensive things just to have it. For example a couple of weeks ago I bought two Vinyl Singles for 1€ each on eBay.It’s just a hobby. Did you get your siouxsie stuff yet?
@weirdlittleboy – That must be the Australian edition, with 6 bonus tracks. At this point, I’m no longer looking, but waiting to see if they will release a more comprehensive b-sides album. If I were to buy, it would be the Rhino reissue along with The Very Best of Definitive Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection because those two discs would give me the 12 b-sides I want. I’m holding off, because I don’t like paying over $50 for 12 remastered tracks. Hate remastering. So purchasing those discs will be a desperate plan B. Anyway, thanks for the thought! Do you purchase used discs to add to your collection? And do you take the plastic wrapping off? I have always wondered this about collectors…
@the pan: this may be interesting for you, if you’re still looking for b-sides:
