Signposted as a new release under Faith No More in Spotify, a bootleg of a 1990 FNM concert has got an improbable wide release this October.

Stirring the Calm, a a straight-up bootleg of Faith No More’s performance on Friday, 9 November 1990 at magazine RIP’s fourth birthday bash at the Hollywood Palladium, Los Angeles. As documented here by Andrew’s Faith No More Gig Database.

The album blurb on Amazon reads:

An appearance at RIP Magazine s birthday party came during the peak of this critical period in the band s history. Held at the Hollywood Palladium on the 9th of November 1990 and broadcast live by KNAC-FM, the show saw Faith No More run through the best of both The Real Thing and Introduce Yourself to a raucous, celebratory audience. It s a fascinating snapshot of an unrivalled band at the zenith of their career, and will be essential listening for fans of Faith No More, those just discovering the group, and music lovers who want to understand and experience the evolution of metal from one of the genre s most important progenitors.

The gig was selected at number 6 in the Kerrang! 100 Greatest Gigs Of All Time published in July 1997.

The album is released on Refractor Records though Napster (remember them?) have it listed under Gonzo.

More news on this odd release when we have it.
