A bit of a bolt from the blue this week as Faith No More teased a video for Sol Invictus track Cone of Shame.
The video is written and directed by Goce Cvetanovski, the Macedonian director whose short film Bill Gould scored last year.
Produced by Lynx Animation Studios & Faith No More
The video and the comments by Mike Patton to The Age this week – “I don’t know whether or not we’re going to attack it, but there is some stuff we wrote around the time of the last one and said, ‘Why don’t we save this for the next record?’ So we’ll see” – have gotten Faith No More fans, sated on three re-releases in the past few weeks, excited about the current Faith No More incarnation all over again.
I’m not sure why mobile wouldn’t show it, but just follow that link I posted.
Also, here’s a really good interview with Bill, Roddy, and Puffy (together! – and good things happen when the 3 of them are spending time together – it doesn’t happen a ton since Roddy lives in NYC):

Awesome! I’m on mobile right now and the exact date doesn’t show up.
Actually, the cover looks like the band’s dog Henry in an Elizabethan collar (cone of shame). I’m not sure who owns Henry the pug?? Is it Patton? Roddy?
I saw Nov 25th on the amazon search that you recommended. If you click on the individual formats, the Nov 25th line does not appear, but it does on the broad search:

There is even a cover for the record now!
Yeah, when motherfucker came out, record store day (when all the special vinyl releases come out only at physical stores) was on Black Friday. This year it was in April for some reason. The 25th still makes sense I guess since it is Black Friday but it isn’t record store day. Where is the 25th release date listed?
Nov 25!?? What the? Two full months before we get more news on this!
I know it won’t happen but I would love a Sol Invictis part deux!! Ah well just gotta wait and see I guess.
But they did release Motherfucker on Black Friday in 2014 and performed in Amoeba Records in SF. Maybe there will be something similar this year? I forget who is or isn’t American on here, but Nov 25th is the day after Thanksgiving when people go nuts with shopping, and there are a few special vinyl releases that day usually.
Actually, wrong…they had it in April this year…didn’t know
November 25 is record store day…so excited!!
Absolutely. The release date is for November 25, so they seem to have previewed this pretty early. Surprised the release isn’t for “Black Friday” instead!
I saw that article where the Patton Fanatic is trying to figure out what album Patton is recording right now, but the Ipecac response shot down a rumor of him taking over for Dead Cross but confirmed he is in the studio recording an album right now. Pretty sure it is not the Fantomas album he talked about. There was material waiting for him from FNM and Tomahawk, but it could be something altogether new. Of course my hope is that he is doing some recording for FNM. I do hope though that the next FNM album doesn’t drop until they’ve got their singles and videos ready, etc. It just looks too hard to do that kind of work while out on the road.
And from another interview Roddy was going to be recording for Imperial Teen this fall.
Very rare that fnm would release a straight up single from a album released 18 months ago. Hopefully it’s an Ep with a couple of unreleased songs as b-sides. Can’t wait.
That’s awesome news, thank you!!
I think I was right. A video, obviously but if you go to amazon and search for “faith no more cone of shame” several listings for vinyl come up and read “unavailable” as if it’s in the system but the details haven’t been released yet. This is similar to the Japanese release of SI before it was released.
Yeah, it looks cool…although I was more hoping you were right and that this was going to be a single release with some more material or a remix.
Can’t wait
