- Massive Attack’s new album is getting lots of press Down Under with Robert Del Naja (3D) seemingly doing a the interview junket trail. He reveals in The Age that some Mike Patton material may make an appearance in May. Sample quote: “Excitingly for fans, a new EP of material is ready and will drop in May. ”We did some stuff with Mike Patton [Faith No More],” 3D says. ”Also Guy Garvey and more great stuff with Damon.” Meanwhile, The Herald Sun reports that “there are also three songs recorded with Faith No More singer Mike Patton” with Del Naja stating: “We’re looking for an opportunity to finish those. Musically, they’re quite mad. We didn’t have the time to take the music to the right place, I’d like to re-look at all that.”
- Meanwhile, Mike Patton will be back in New York in 2011. Broadway World reveals that he will feature in a John Zorn and Friends concert on 30 March 2011: “Avant-garde innovators Laurie Anderson, Lou Reed, Mike Patton, Marc Ribot, Dave Douglas and Uri Caine perform with experimental music master John Zorn in a series of mind-bending sonic compositions and no-holds-barred improvisations.” Playbill has the ticket details:NYCO season subscriptions are currently on sale.
