Faith No More cover Pearl Jam’s Jeremy and Metallica’s Enter Sandman new audio

March 9th, 2015|Faith No More, News, Video vault|8 Comments

While we have all been concentrating closely on new Faith No More music, some amazing old-school FNM live footage has appeared on YouTube in the past few days.

‘Tuber josephdabestslayerko has posted 4 great videos of obscure Faith No More live songs. His offerings include two covers including the previously unheard cover of Pearl Jam’s Jeremy.
Indeed, the source of the short Jeremy snippet has stumped even Faith No More gig database guru and chief FNMologist Andrew Bowie. The gig database curator has only one Faith No More Jeremy cover listed before (10 October 1992 in Upper Darby, PA) and this is not it:

The same YouTube account has also posted the band’s mash-up of The Cranberries Zombie and Metallica’s Enter Sandman. This one was recorded in Norway on 20 March 1995, a well boot-legged gig. Notably it featured on the Ferocious Neurosis bootleg.

Also from that YouTube account, two early FNM live efforts of New Beginnings and Arabian Disco. These are from 1988 and the only two gigs with confirmed setlists from that year are Liverpool and Norwich from May.

So, how can you get this piece? Easy: Bid on it at this link: Facebook album!
If your bid wins then you make the donation of the amount reached to Chuck’s paypal account and we’ll send the Photo*. The auction ends on December 12th.

Remember our aim is to help, so if the bid is too high for you and you simply want to make a donation, we welcome you to do it here: [email protected]

And wise words on the subject from Ben in Comments:

I personally feel that with the amount of hours of my life since I was 10 years old that I’ve spent either listening to or humming Chuck’s songs Cement, VUA, and his songs with FNM that I’ve been ripping him off for years. Seriously, his VUA album was only $9 when I bought it and these demos were a dollar donation (I paid more to try to help him get a tour going, but a lot of people just paid the dollar). Anyway, I think these demos are great, several of them better than the album cuts. People should check them out and it’s for a good cause.

Chuck Mosley bio in pipeline; reflection on what happens next

Author and musician Douglas Esper has penned his thoughts on the end of the current Faith No More tour on his terrifically-titled d-esper-ation blog. And Douglas also tells us that he is currently working with former Faith No More vocalist Chuck Mosley.

Here’s Douglas’s take on FNM 2012: “I know for years they balked at rehashing the old material, so to have them find a passion for these songs again enough to play dozens of shows around the world, made it special for me and, i imagine, the other fans as well.”

Douglas also told FNM 2.0 that he is currently working on ghostwriting a Chuck Mosley biography and he’ll be keeping us informed on the progress of that project.

Meanwhile, here is an interview that Douglas did with Chuck from 2009 with his interesting insights on his then relationship with the band.

Links for a day…(vol:36): Faith No More rider revealed?

October 12th, 2009|Faith No More|0 Comments

  • Chilean newspaper El Mercurio has apparently unearthed the rider for Faith No More’s show in Santiago, Chile on 29 October. The newspaper reports that FNM request 20 places for their technical team and band management and 30 for family and friends while the headline is “Security, pornography and a butcher knife requested by Faith No More.” I am unable to even Google-translate the article so I may have missed some details but I can garner that they have requested various wines, whiskey, vodka and champagne as well as pizzas, sushi and local dishes. Among the reading material requested, the paper reports, are newspapers The New York Times, USA Today, The Guardian and The Sun as well as magazines Time and Newsweek.
A full translation from any of our Spanish speakers would be much appreciated.
  • Rumours of a cancellation of Faith No More’s concert in Peru in Lima on 27 October have been dismissed by the concert promoters. reports promoters spokesman Fiorella Rodriguez as saying that the concert wil go ahead and that ticket sales are going well. The news comes after reports that Alberto Menacho, reported as a spokesman for the event organisers, had asked fans to buy tickets quickly to avert a cancellation.
  • The Mike Patton Chile site reports that negotiations are advanced to bring Chuck Mosley to Chile to support Faith No More.
  • More details on Chuck Mosley’s New York CMJ festival date, confirmed for 22 October, here.
  • Although not everyone is a fan of Chuck’s We Care a Lot 2.0.
  • For the record, here is the track. Not sure its that bad but certainly not a patch on the original lyrically or musically.
